The Hon. Scott Morrison MP
Prime Minister
Greetings to all Muslim Australians as you welcome the most holy month of Ramadan.
This year, thankfully, you can gather again in your homes and mosques.
In this season of fasting and prayer, it is right to give thanks for what we have come through together.
The Australia we love celebrates people of all faiths, practising their beliefs, living side by side and valuing the human dignity of every individual.
From these traditions and teachings, we have once again found sustenance in the face of adversity.
We have continued to support one another, and to pray.
We have been reminded of the importance of faith, community and family.
Through Ramadan, Islam shares an important message of compassion, contemplation, sacrifice and resilience.
And as Prime Minister, I have been grateful for your efforts keeping each other safe over the past two difficult years.
Muslim Australians and Muslim communities set an example – and played your part in responding to the pandemic.
As a nation, we have grown in strength and unity. We look to the future with confidence, courage and optimism.
May this holy season of Ramadan be a time of blessing for you all.
May you be renewed in the strength of your faith, and the joy of your community.
The Hon Scott Morrison MP
Prime Minister of Australia
